Air conditioning

My air conditioning went out the other day. Now when I turn it on, sometimes it will blow cold for 5ish minutes then it gradually heats back up. I assume it needs a recharge or something. Has anyone done a recharge themselves, is it hard/doable in your driveway? Does it sound like it may be something else? I guess I should mention that I've got an 02 wrx wagon.

AC service is best done by a shop with the proper equipment. Yes you can buy a DIY recharge kit at the parts store but that's not really the right way to deal with it. Chances are there is a leak in the system that needs to be fixed.
