97 IMPREZA L WAGON ...Help...please fellow members
Should I buy this car? I recently found a 97 blue L wagon at a subaru dealer 3 hours away. I was just wondering if it is worth the drive because I am considering purchasing it.
Okay here is the deal: The car is a recent trade in and the dealer was planning on selling it on an auction but I called and said I was interested. I asked them "Why they were going to sell it at the auction." They said, they don't sell cars with over 100,000 miles on it.
They offered me 4,395 however with no warantee. The car has 155,000 miles. From the pictures he sent me and his discription when he contacted me, the car was really well taken car of. It only has 2 minor dings with a few light scratches. He even read me the carfax review on it and it has a clean title.
What do you guy think? Help me please I am planning on driving to the dealer thats 3 hours away. I have been searching for a GF8 wagon for 3 months now. Should I just wait for another one or should I consider this? Thanks

Yah, I am going to swat a motor into it, but I won't have the ends for that yet, so I am going to be driving it for a while with the stock motor.
Like I said it has 155,000 miles on it. I talked to the salesman and his final offer was $ 3750 out the door which includes tax, license, etc. I told him that my final offer was 3500 out the door. I am suppose to get back to him. What do you think? Is it worth it or should I just wait for another one.
The car has no warrantee.
Another thing how reliable is carfax.com or those other car history report website? I am afraid to buy a car that has a bad title. Thanks for replying and your help!

I'd say go for it.
That's cheap for 97.
What you need to do is.. change timing belt and replace the valve cover seal.
It should run forever.
plus finding a subaru cheap in California is very hard.
I spent lots of time to get my wagon here in cali. Flew to SF from LA to get my car...
