2005 sti shopping

My dealership is offering 33,789 for a 2005 sti... Do you think that is a good deal? Any salesman out there think a dealership would accept 34,000 out the door? What would be a resonable negotiation?

Thanks....

umm, well, MSRP is $31,120. Add destination of $550, and you get $31,670, so unless that $33,789 is out the door, that deal kinda sucks.

Well, if that price is after options, then that's not too bad at all.

I just went to carsdirect.com to see there "special internet no-haggle price"... I got an email with a number to call the internet sales manager to get the special price quote... I'll post it tomorrow since when I called, he had already left for the day. I guess the way it works is that they find the nearest dealership and get them to contact you. I have already been to this dealership, which is where I got the above quote from. So it will be interesting to hear what the "special internet no-haggle price" is going to be.... Anyone else buy a car using this method??

That's the best way to buy a car. ALWAYS, always deal with the internet sales dept. unless you've got a hook up with a guy on the floor. In general, the sales dept. always gives better deals than the guys on the floor to start.

what is your invoice price? if you would rather not post it publically, you can send a PM... Also do you have a list of all the options that are available? The dealership here didn't have any info on the 05's, but they had the cars already.... Also I'm in Vegas, so do you know about what the cost to truck it over here would be?

Thanks...

oh, also the "special internet price" was not so special... in fact it was no different from what the floor salesman was quoting.... also carsdirect.com just basically contacts the nearest dealership and connects you with the internet sales manager at that dealership, and he said they don't deal on the sti's.... and of course there has to be only one Subaru dealership in all of Vegas....

I could sell you one for $XXXX over invoice.
Jeff, there is a 'sticky' posted by BAN SUVS at the top of the Suby Shopping Forum. It's been there since October of 2003. Here is what it says:

" Posting an Ad? Read ME First

Members and dealers: Please note that this forum is not a classified listing, nor is it permissible to post solicitations for new car sales. Member for sale ads placed here will be moved to the appropriate forum, and dealers posting ads here will have their threads removed entirely. If you are dealership personnel and would like to place ads on i-club, please contact Imprezer about vendor status."

If you wish to seek Vendor status on i-Club send me PM. Thank you.

Car Info: 2004 Platinum Silver STi
got my STi with all the options for $35,000 out the door. It was marked well over invoice. I went to 3 dealerships in the area, they all gave me the same price, however, the STi is a hot item in my area. One will only sit on the floor for a week and it's gone. They scam because I am sure that they have more sitting in a lot somewhere. They say things like "this is the last silver we have, no other dealership has one in stock." If I wanted a cheaper price I would have to go outside of metropolitan Detroit to a dealership in the boondocks which has 5 sitting around. It sucks. Oh, and they would not negotiate, they didn't have to because they knew that the next person who walked in looking for an STi would buy it for $35,000.
So, look somewhere in no mans land for a Subaru dealership.
