I am looking at the Outback Sport for my next car. I have a question regarding the rear spoiler.

Edmunds says that the "rear spoiler" is standard on the OBS, but optional on the 2.5TS wagon. However, there's a "spoiler" option on the "price with options" worksheet. What is the "rear spoiler" (S**) that is standard (if any) on the OBS? Also, what is the "rear window dust deflector" (Q2W)?

Is the spoiler the bit under the rear window over the back painted panel? Or is it the bit at the top of the rear window, at the end of the roof?

The rear spoiler is on top of the back window, protruding from the roof. It looks cool and finishes the rear, IMHO.

That would be odd if it was changed to being optional for the OBS, I suspect it was an error. Suby should just make it standard for the TS as well, do they really make that much money selling it as an option only to TS buyers???

 

I talked to the dealer, and he said the spoiler is optional on the 2004 OBS.

We got distracted with other conversation, so he didn't answer my other question: What is the 'rear window dust deflector'?
