nothing is wrong with a 16 year old having an sti.. im 17, so.. in my opinion the only reason not to get one would be because it being his first car.. which doesnt seem too smart because any person new on the road plus an 30k car = an expensive accident waiting to happen.

I'm not one of the guys that goes to every thread that involves people under the age of 20 driving anything more powerful than a Honda Civic and starts my campaign as to why that is wrong. But of course there are people like that, plenty of them. I would however agree that statistically you are going to get a more experienced and conservative driver with older age. Certain cars are best fitted for different levels of driver experience, it might not be the best match up for a new driver and an STi. But I wouldn't denounce a teen driver unless I knew for a fact that he has some sort of driving problem or just sucks at life in general. Otherwise, enjoy it while you are young.

I wish my parents bought me A car when I was 16... *cries with self pity*

Actually I completely agree with accident waiting to happen, man I did some stupid s*** as a teenager. I drove a 240sx (which I worked for myself) and think that was still the wrong thing to be driving.

Anyway! Back on topic, sounds like a good deal to me. Not alot of miles, so unless he raced the engine for the bulk of the 1500 miles I'd go for that deal

The STi is a very safe car. When he gets into an accident he will probably be ok. Yes the STi may be a little too much for him. If i were a parent and i bought my kid an STi(which i never would). I might pick up an accessport and put it on the valet map and lock it in the safe. That would be a good way to detune the car until the kid proved themselves. It is a very safe car though and parents do like that. I think that is a big selling point of the car. Not to mention the 300HP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
