Anyone ever experience any detonation on a brand new '05 wrx stock. When I bought mine in march after i broke it in of course, my car would detonate under wot in 2nd gear only. Since then I have installed a cobb ap and my car has only detonated once or twice in hot weather under wot, so I am not worried about it any more but I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

I've heard of it happening, however my '05 did not have this problem

 

At least someone responded, but that doesn't really make me feel any better about my problem.

Took my car into Subaru and they took a look at the problem (whatever that means), but it still detonated after.

But like I said, the Cobb AP took care of the problem, I was just curious if anyone else had this issue with their car.

 

I've been told by a couple Subaru tuners that these 2.0 engines are prone to knocking. I have no way to verify that as my engines never does it (knock on wood).

 

whats detonating? i got a 05 wrx too, is this a common problem for the 05?
