05 temperature rise after spirited driving

hey guys,
weird thing thats happening to me and my suby... I have to do alot of hwy driving and I like to to cruise at about 75-80mph with about 40k miles. Sometimes, i like to take it about 95-100 mph just to have some fun, however...... I do notice that from time to time the temperature will rise almost to hot on the gauge. I would have to turn on the heater full balst to alleviate the heat. Kinda scary so i slow down.

I noticed this happening after 30k, i doesnt happen all the time but it worries me. I havent done a minor tune up (esp coolant flush) but I dont think it would cause it, right?

Can anyone shed some light

thanks
folks

chris

I have an 05 and have never experienced this. At least take it to the dealership if its under warranty and get your problem denoted on a service receipt. That way if anything happens down the line you can say you did your part by bringing it to Subaru's attention and they didn't address the problem. I've never heard of this but maybe you've got a fluke Subaru. A naturally aspirated car certainly shouldn't be having these problems with miles that low.

unfortunately, my warranty expired shortly before this started happening. I think i got the 3yr/36k warranty.

Maybe a coolant r/r will help much? would my header be too hot for it? i have borlas.

thermostat?

thanks folks
