05 Legacy GTs gone
Been calling dealers all over the Bay Area. Apparently they do not have any more in 5MT.
The 06s are only available with the Limited and no discounts on them. For the 29K they are selling for might as well look into an STI.

With some serious searching you might be able to find some but it won't be easy.
A GT Automatic Sedan should be about 24,000-24,000 after rebate
A GT LTD Automatic Sedan should be about 26,500-27,000 after rebate

It has something to do with Subaru adding the spec-b lgt sedan model and as a result Subaru whacked the 5mt wagon to keep the total number of models the same.
or something.
or something.
kind of a shame
it's kind of a shame that they don't offer MT GT wagons or STI wagons, but from a "I run the company" perspective, the # of people that are lost from Subaru for the lack of those offerings are very few. For example, if offered, I probably would've bought an STI wagon, but since the wagon part was important to me, I bought a WRX wagon. Suby still gets the business, so honestly, they don't give 2 shakes of a lamb's tail whether I'd prefer an STI wagon because I bought their product anyway (I'd PREFER if it had 600 horsepower, got 70 mpg, and cost $20K, but sometimes we can't have our way). I would be willing to wager that the number of people that would actually put cash down on that car, but instead buy an Audi or VW or Volvo wagon because it's available with M/T is very very low. Most will either settle for the A/T, or purchase a different Subaru model (Forester XT, WRX, etc.)

I got some quotes on the 06 5MT Legacy GT Limited at $28,000 - way different than the $24,000 after rebate price quote on the 05 5MT Legacy GT Non-limited.

i've been watching the same car... waiting for my insurance payout and this is what i have found... 05 legacy gt non-/unlimited sedans in the southwest US
absolutely none left in the bay area:
so cal:
lancaster subaru - brilliant silver metallic
and there might be one at thousand oaks subaru but i think it was a dealer transfer from barber subaru last weekend and was sold...
nevada:
the one at findlay subaru last week is gone today
arizona:
planet subaru - satin white pearl
new mexico:
garcia subaru - satin white pearl
galles and davis subaru - satin white pearl
there might be one if i recall correctly in that hideous (imho) atlantic blue pearl somewhere in socal. there had been complaints on legacygt.com that all the other colors besides white and silver were dull anyways so white and silver is the way to go. i got quoted 25,9 before factory rebates on one. wasn't much room for bargaining i think since it needed to be dealer trade and theres less than a handful in all of this corner of the country...

Wow, that's some good info. I mainly searched the Bay Area and didn't find any.
