i spoke to a customer service rep today. there will be no reimbursement. there will also probably be no future subaru's for me. once this one blows a motor, and i put a 2.5l in it, and blow that i'm gonna get rid of it

it would appear that the fix consists of: a bolt with a lockwasher on it and some red loctite. it's probably the same damn bolt as before, but with loctite on it. what I have issue with is the way it's constructed. simply adding a large flat washer between the lock washer and the bracket itself would prevent the problem. there are numerous stories of the bracket breaking around the bolt, it's even happened to me. replacing the bolt won't fix that.

about time subaru realized this was going on. i once went to the dealer to get it fixed but after watching the tech fix my seat i just did it myself when it happened again.
I just wanted to add that mine didn't loosen up until about 2 months after getting this recall done. Before that, it had never come loose at all. My fix was a large washer as stated above and more loctite.
