Question Wtf?

Was looking on ebay and I found this...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=31868

They say 300hp? No way... thats a stock WRX engine. 2.5 Turbo? NO way also... thats once again just a WRX EJ20.

Then the seats... I recognise those to be Legacy leather seats with the Side Airbags which they claim are functional which cant be because as far as I know WRX's didnt have Side airbags.

As far as I know there was never a R1 anywhere in the world. Worth 43k? my ***.
Can somebody inform me?

Cheers
-Jeff

interesting car, never heard of them. Dont know if its legit or just someone who made up badges and threw them on

EDIT : after some searching, I see mostly canadians talking about the Spec R1, so I would guess it was something not offered here in the states

linky
The release of the WRX Special Edition Spec R1 will satisfy those searching for a custom look from a factory car. The Spec R1 comes with MOMO designed accent pieces. 17-inch BBS wheels, and Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions tires. The Subaru Anti-Theft System is also part of the package. Each Spec R1 will carry a unique serial number representing the limited availability of this vehicle. All WRXs are now outfitted with an illuminated ignition key ring.

try reading this

http://www.richmondsubaru.com/Subaru/impreza/

from what it seems, the spec r1 does or will exists, however it's just for dress up, and no power difference.

now if you read this

http://autonet.ca/CarMarket/stories.cfm?storyID=8687

you can get a short description of the spec 1, being offered in yellow only, and no, it is not a 2.5 litre engine with 300 hp.
