wrx vs. 350z

has anyone raced a 350Z yet? the cars are very similar in race times, but which one would pull it to the end?

i work at nissan and the specs for the 350z is 270HP @ 3800 pounds

They have similar 1/4 mile numbers too.

I'd give the 350z the edge, and from a roll the 350z would own.

0-60 times and 5-60 times on a Z are pretty much the same. On the other hand, 0-60 on the WRX is 5.4 - 5.9 and 5-60 on the WRX is about 6.8 (from Car & Driver), which I believe from my own experience with my own WRX. So from a roll, there is no comparison -- the Z just has much more low end grunt that our small displacement engines can't compare to.

Nope, Z is 287HP, 274 lb.ft.

i raced a white one, beat him off the line, but he gained on me and beat me by half a car length at around 83 mph. i let off (speed limit was 45). my buddy who has a rex says my car has hella throttle lag which is easily fixalbe, but when i get the cable tightened, i will look for him again

they are in different price categories. the sti would put up a beter fight if any.!

Yes, if keeping the same price range, the STi would be more comparable, and the STi would crush the 350Z in a straight line. Don't know about a road course though. I was recently at a track day at Summit Point and there was a guy there with a completely stock 350X Track Model and he was REALLY quick. Of course he also had about 30 track days under his belt, so the experience helped.

???? i walked all over a z a few weeks ago, several times from a light and from a roll at different speeds, 20, 30 40,

i had an obvious advantage for some reason, i guess the guy just couldnt drive, he wouldnt stop trying though!
