WRX v. RX-7
I hope im posting this in the appropriate section but a run in with a WRX last night has me curious. Usually, theres really no challenge but I was on my way home last night when I ran into one, white, looked entirely stock.
To cut a long story short, we punched it in 3rd at about 55-60 and he was able to keep up with me really well. We did this a couple times and if he got on it before me, id have to reel him in, very slowly. When we got an even start, id only get about 2-3 cars by 5800rpm in 4th. This was in OC on PCH, wondering if the owner is on this message boards and what mods he had to be able to keep up? My mods are in the sig. Overall, a very interesting night.
I dont think sig. is coming up so mods are:
Jspec motor, ported turbo & wastegate, FC3S.org thermal bypass pellet, TB mod, Corksport Cat back/midpipe/downipe, Banzai Racing FCD, 3" Al TID, Apex'i air cleaner, Walbro 255, Mazda Comp. mission/motor mounts, HKS SSQV, 680cc secondary's, RB oil baffle, RB dual alt. pulley, Cusco Oil catch, HKS elec. boost gauge & elec water temp, 5 lug conversion, GTUs suspension, KVR Cross drilled rotors, Stainless steel brake lines/clutch line, DTSS Eliminator bushings, RB HD Clutch & PP, Aerodyne shroud panel, complete S5 body conversion (Noble White).

yea you know your car kicks *** if you see it on gran turismo3 =)
and in that game, the STi smokes the rx7 stock vs stock. there is a taste of the WRX genetics

You must have misunderstood him, he said he still beat the WRX or at least kept up with him. So before you become d*cks to him hear him out. He said he didn't want to start anything, he just wants to find out about cars. I don't understand why car enthusiasts have to dog on other types of cars. A true car enthusiast appreciates a good car regardless of the make. Sorry about the OT, but hope you find your man White Comet
. And keep up the good work, sounds like you have a nice car.

Thanks guys. Also, thanks to xstephenx for clearing that up, I did beat him but just wanted to know how he did so well as ive raced a couple other WRX's with quite a few mods and they didnt do as well as his nearly "stock" WRX.
As for the name, yea im a bit of an initial D fan (moderator on IDX Forums) I'll be at the meet in A.V. on Sat night.

Dude. I used to drive an N/a S-4 FC.
Even though I just bought a WRX, I mean just driving it and almost killing myself understeering in corners I really wish I went and bought a Series 5 turboII instead...
Argh...I gotta mega stiff up the rear sway bars or something, driving is no fun anymore.
O yeah, did I mention the FC is awesome? I think it's hands down the best value for money for all-around used sportscar
