Sometimes people wave or beep at me but my hands are usually in an akward position (on the shifter or the bottom of the steering wheel, you perv! ) so I don't usually have time to gesture before we pass.

Now that I have mine, I make a point to acknowledge other fellow owners/enthusiasts.
Simple nods or open-palmed "waves", nothing gay or over-the-top...

Well, I have gotten a number of smiles, waves, thumbs-up, etc. But NEVER from a fellow owner! NOT ONCE!

I'm not starved for attention, but waddup with that? Where's the LOVE????

Stop calling them imps and they'll wave back

j/k I know what u were talking about

unless the drivers give you a WTF are you looking at kinda look, then sometimes they just don't notice until its to late.

There have been several times when i didn't have the chance to wave at a fellow suby driver, but it didn't mean that i didn't not want to not wave at them.

catch my drift? cuz i just confused myself

Believe it or not, a lot of the people who buy Subarus do so because they are safe, reliable vehicles with a good reputation, not because they are "car people" who obsess about their vehicle all the time. This has a lot to do with where I live (Scottsdale, AZ) but many of the Impreza/Forester/Outback drivers I see in my area are well over 60 and are more concerned with keeping their eyes on the road than tipping a wink to a fellow Suby driver.

It seems hard to imagine to people like us, who gather online to talk about cars, that the vast majority of people just don't give a crap about what they drive once the "new car" feeling wears off, but that is the case for the vast majority of people. I'm still excited about my 02 WRX a year and a half later, but my friends, wife and colleagues got sick of hearing about it the very first week

I usually give a nod to other WRX's that I see. But I own a red one and there arnt many red ones where I live. I saw another red one drive by and we gave each other the evil stare as we crossed paths.

I think had we lived in the old west, we would have dueled each other.
