My drivers side window has had a wind noise problem since new.
At first, lowering and re-closing the window quieted it. It got steadily worse and I took it back for warranty adjustment.
The dealership told me that 1 of 4 new WRX's have this problem, something to do with a mirror gusset adjustment.
It's better again, but not gone. If I put manual pressure on the internal weatherstripping near the noise it's stopped.

Have any other WRX owners on the forum had to deal with this problem?

 

i have a 01 2.5 rs that does the same thing.....its not that loud but deffinatley noticable

Am I to assume you never had it looked into? Was it present from the start or did it develop later?

I find it pretty irritating. If it were years old I might expect it, but new?

 

Just to clarify, the noise is operating the window.

It's air noise leaking through the weatherstripping in a specific area.
