Owners of GC/GM bodies will say they prefer the looks and light weight of their car over the stiffer-chassised bug-eyes of 02-03, while the GD/GF owners will like their stiffer chassis (and turbos) more than the lightness of the older cars... but some of them will prefer the looks of the older ones.

Im glad he started this post because i learned a lot from it(well i will when i read it over and pay attention)...and it is better then some website...it has more info and you guys are actually helping him make a decision....this place is great! ilgdrummer dont let people discourage you from starting threads when you have questions...maybe if you think its been answered before do a quick search and see if you can find some info...if you still have any questions start a thread, which usually(almost always) helps you learn a lot...and most of us will be happy to help(if we can)....btw i like the older 2.5s looks

Ok, I'm yet another newbie with a question. The first year that the rs got the more aggressive foglights was 1999, but I've been looking around at a whole bunch of RS's lately, and I see RS's with the pre-99 small fogs on 99,00, and 01 models. Were the more aggressive fogs just an option you could get for the car or were they standard?
I'm looking at these cars in Canada, so it might be different for me, which would suck. those big fogs are so damn cool.

Can any canadian RS owners confirm if they have the big foglights on their car or the small ones? For some reason a bunch of the Canadian car buying/selling sites have 99-01 RS's with the small fogs.
Could anyone give me a site where I could find the manufacturer's big fog bumper for sale? Also, is that big fog bumper modeled after a version of the STI, or even an exact replica? I'm under the impression that it is.

Canada never did get the big foglights on thier RS's, only the small ones. Something to do with crash testing, I think. But you can get the bumper with the big fogs and retrofit it onto your Canadian-spec RS, I've seen that done.
