What do u guys think about a 88 Daytona vs an 02 wrx?
Ok i dunno if this is the right forum or not but anyway, there is this guy that says that buying an wrx is like buying a neon cus it has no power , plus he said that he could beat me in a race cus he said he can go round curves at 70mph. Now me on the other hand think he is stupid and i would never race him not unless on a track of course cus i want my licenese but any way why can't people jus shut up when they know they are wrong. Geeez stupidity kills me.

I used to own a Shelby, they were pretty quick and would be a good race. But a standard daytona?! HAHA, those suck. I mean, I got tired of dealing with the dodge quality issues, but at least I had a fast car for the time being. I could never own a stock N/A daytona....they are ugly as sin and slow as hell....total chick car.
if its the daytina iroc RT, then the wrx gets smacked from a roll.
224hp stock.
dohc, head designed by lotus.
very lo 14's stock, and remeber thats fwd.
also very aerodynamic, so a top end run is pointless for a wrx.
stock vs stock.
if its a vnt from a roll, wrx gets pulled hard at 1st.
those had 174hp/210tq but had ZERO lag!!

spdkillz,
why don't you just race him and prove him wrong? even stock vs stock, WRX will smack that daytona like a pimp right off the line.
Launch your wrx at 4.5 grand, all he will see is your rear lights.

they were fun on the top end. With the Getrag 586 tranny and the aerodynamics, the car would get up to 140mph in a hurry. It could go higher, but the speedo only went to 140 so god know how fast it was. Miss that car.
yeah, i also had a vnt, a 90 shadow es.
fun car, but parts were hard to come by.
try buying a radiator, lol.
i'd like to see a vnt go at it with my rex.
i think it would be close.
btw, its the getrag a568

When I had my 1986 GLHS Omni, my goal was to modify my car to be as quick as Dave Zelkowski's Dodge Omni.
Mopar Performance was much more owner-friendly than any Japanese manufacturer. Then and now, they've produced and sold CARB 50-state legal replacement ECUs for many of their vehicles. I ordered a 6-point SCCA-legal cage for my Omni, re-mapped ECU, hard suspension bushings, and Autometer boost gauge over the counter from a Dodge dealership, installed it, and they never once hasseled me about warranty work. The Mopar Performance catalog was full of everything from dress-up items for the engine, to a ported cylinder head for my Omni.
I wish Subaru was as enthusiastic - instead, I get a disclaimer that if I install the SPT muffler and (STi) suspension kit on my WRX, it will void the factory warranty. <sigh>

As far as MP being more friendly....yeah...they were for a time. But around 1998 MP was bailing out on the 2.2 Turbos as fast as they could. I had the clearance catalog from when they dumped all their 2.2 stuff completely, sold off the last of the stock and was done with it. Now there isn't any "new" MP 2.2 stuff. The shelby Turbo's were great cheap fast cars....but they were like the bastard child of Shelby and dodge. Neither really liked them anymore. It was near impossible to get Shelby america to include us in the Shelby events, usually it required a Letter campaign to get us added. I personally think Shelby is embarassed to have been playing around with turbo Dodge Omni's and shadows. But hey, he made some great stuff, nothing wrong with that. Just not as respected as say a GT350 or cobra.
