warranty questions from a newbie

I just got my first subaru. I traded in my B'mer. Why didn't I get a suby sooner?!
Ok here goes....
Turbo timers - need them? Is it a good idea? Most importantly, do they void warranty?
Springs - I'm looking at the Eibach Pro kit loweing springs. I'm lowering just for looks. Installing them will void my warranty?
thanks!

New springs will void your warranty on the springs (and likely the suspension for sure) but if something else breaks they have to prove that your modification directly caused the breakage to occur. Now this doesn't prevent them from trying to deny your warranty on some bs reason, and making your life difficult while trying to get your car repaired though..
I've heard recommendations that you shouldn't mod your car for AT LEAST 5,000 miles. I guess they figure that if anything will break it should by then and you could get warranty coverage.

remember the dealer honors the factory warranty-and not the damage caused by the aftermarket device-id like to see that bulletin that states you "dont need to idle the car for cool down "also could you give me that bulletin # that states this isnt needed.
subaru doesnt honor their factory warranty if they dont want too. It all comes down to their opinion of how the part broke. in most cases they will blame it on the user. you're gonna have to fight with them on pretty much any warranty work if you have any modifications, small or large.
no you dont need a turbo timer. but as with any car turbo or non turbo, it is always a good idea to let the engine cool down after driving hard. running synthetic oil will also help with long term engine/turbo care.
