well if it's a new one, i would just say look for a good price. if you're wallet is on a diet, you probably won't be able to get any of the cool goodies, such as gauge pack, short shifter, ect. even if you don't think you can afford, take it for a test anyway. you will love it. of course you may then want to sell everything else to buy one!!

if feasible, wait for march and you will then have two options....
a new 04 wrx with slightly redesigned exterior... or...
there will be a markdown for the 03 wrx then (by that time, they will want to get rid of them)
wait buddy wait. that's what i'm doing.

You can bet that the 03' will be marked down to clear them off the lot, no one is going to pay the same price for "last years" model as "this years"...... Only the dealer's will know for sure how much of a markdown there will be.....but you can bet there will be one! Money issues asside, your decision will be, do you want to wait, and if you are willing to wait, which style do you like better, the 03' "bug-eye" or the redesigned 04'

Here is a reply I got from a salesman at the local Subaru Dealer!
I have your request for a price quote on a 2003 Subaru WRX with 5
Speed manual transmission, Atuo Dimming Mirror/Compass, Security
Upgrade, Speaker Upgrade, Subwoofer, Titainium Shifter, Short Throw
Shifter, Turbo Gauge, and Spoiler. The MSRP for that car is $26,677. I
can sell you that car for $2,886 less than the MSRP (which is $200 under
our invoice price). That would bring your price to $23,791. The 2003
Subaru WRX represents an excellent value even at its MSRP. I also have
discount Finance rates at 3.9% for 5 years (lower rates for shorter
terms). Have you had a chance to drive a 2003 Subaru WRX yet? If you
have not, I would like to invite you to try one out.
