Correct me if I am wrong, but that DOES have a turbo. It has the little scoop (just like the legacy 2.2 turbo) to guide air to the turbo.

That sounds like a 2.2T Legacy turbo engine in there, and, as far as I know, not all of those where intercooled. So just because there is no intercooler doesn't mean it's not a turbo engine. And from what little I remember from seeing those engines, that looks like a non-intercooled Legacy turbo engine.

 

That's right....all turbo's must have intercoolers. LOL

I don't think all of them where. I've been to salvage yards, and I've seen Legacy Turbo wagons with a turbo that was plumbed straight to the intake manifold, with no intercooling whatsoever. Maybe it wasn't a 2.2T, but it was in a Legacy. Oh, and not all Legacy Turbos had hood scoops (think 80's). So, what crap am I missing here?

 

1990 was the first year for the Legacy here
Ok I'll admit the wagons had no intercooler, but they all had hoodscoops. Still doesn't look like a ej22t...compare pics
