Trunk Swap + VIN #?

Just wondering is it safe to swap trunks even though your VIN # is on it? I'm trying to swap my trunk for a trunk with a STI wing on it and my friend said it's not a good idea because the VIN # is on my trunk. Can someone please explain to me if it is bad or not?

if the vin is on your trunk via a sticker remove the sticker swap trunks and put the sticker back on if you feel you need it. other than that I don't believe there is any law against swapping trunks.

Some people dont want any info to get out, like vin#,plate # etc ..IMO if someone wants to steal your car they will steal it no matter what you have or do,unless it is parked in your garage everyday. As stated if you are un sure just take the sticker off and swap them.
