Angry Touch Up Paint = plastic sticker

I was touching up a blemish on my WRX's rear bumper and I used some masking tape to mask up the area I didn't want painted over. About a hour later, I peeled off the masking tape to find a ring of lint outlining the painted area. I pulled out some Scotch tape and pressed and pulled against the areas of lint to remove it. Lo and behold, the tape ripped the entire clot of WR Blue off! There wasn't any more damage to the area beneath, and the clot felt like a thin piece of plastic, which crumpled between my fingers. Man, the paint is useless. It doesn't look convincing and it's just doesn't stick.
