suggestions on a ECU 02 wrx?

hey guys, any suggestions on a ECU upgrade for an 02 wrx? previous owner said the light flywheel(Fidanza) he installed is causing misfire problems on all cylinders which i had no clue since i'd been to a mechanic several times and replaced a bunch of stuff that didn't fix the problem. Even the mechanics were stumped and said everything looked fine but didn't understand why it was misfiring and wanted to replace more ****.

If this rings true to anyone, any suggestions on different companies that provide an ECU upgrade?

i won't be buying the ECU right away, still looking into the issue and shopping around.

Pretty common for a non oem flywheel to throw a CEL. Never happened to me, but it does happen. Not sure if the usual CEL is for misfire though. It sounds like you haven't been taking your car to a Subaru specialist. You have great options in the bay. Closest to you are speed element or gst. My vote is you use an oem flywheel and be done with the issue if that is the cause.

The PO is an idiot for buying a flywheel that is waaaaaaaaaaay too light. Fidanza was a terrible choice on his part.

Curious, what the did the mechanics con you into replacing when you took your car if the fly wheel is at fault. It the flywheel is the source, the only fix is throwing it in a trashcan.

Yeah when the Flywheels are too light, my understanding is that the ECU Thinks there is a misfire when in reality there is not, so more like a false code. But the correct way to fix this issue would be to get a new Flywheel and I really like the Exedy, as they are still lightweight, but should not throw a CEL on you.

Thanks,
Rick
