motor and trannie wise they are pretty solid, as long as it has been maintained maintained.

I would look for oil leaks at that mileage, front crank seals are very common accross the subaru line, as are valve cover gaskets, and the rear of the oil pans. All pretty easily fixed.

the timing belt should be changed if it has not already been done.

Make sure to fiddle with every single thing on the car and look at every body pannel on and under the car for any sorts of problems. Then test drive it, including some corners to see if anything is wrong with noises and such under cornering as well as acceleration and deceleration, and then decide
