Too bad they don't have vehicles that can compete with Subaru's bread and butter- the WRX, Legacies, and Outbacks. Toyota has no AWD cars and nothing as fast and sporty as the WRX, STi, or even Legacy GT and Forester XT.

Also keep in ming they way Toyota/Lexus owners drive their cars, and the way Subaru owners drive theirs!
It always made me sick that Saturn was considered a top reliability brand when the average owner is 70 and female (give or take)!

There is no denying that Toyota/Lexus are the most reliable cars out there. A family member of mine has had a 1992 Land Cruiser since it was bought, and they have had no problems with it, even with a tough life as a ranch vehicle, and now having nearly 225k miles. They have only done scheduled maintnence, and had a few wear and tear things replaced and it still runs like a charm. Though I love my scooby, nothing can compare to Toyota reliability.
