All they really need to do for minor, but major improvement toward the design is remove the triangle grill and the altezza-type clear tailights

well....we'll see.
Atleast a minor change. The headlights are sweet, but the tails are....pooh.
The Grille....I still like it, but I'm sure they can improve ALOT upon it.

I personally don't have a problem with any of the design features of any of the Impreza models since 01. I think the 06 body style is the cleanest of the bunch, except the 98-01 2.5RS. That is one good looking car.

I like the gc's for some reason. I love the bugeyes the most for some reason....04/05 is eh...but I think the 06's are the most agressively styled imprezas. The 02-05 models are just too boxy looking....they did a good job with all the lines on the 06

boxy

slightly more agressive...although still slightly boxy

They need to hire a German designer. They keep comparing the STI to an M3, but lookwise there is no comparison. Sleek is cool and functional.

This is the Alfa Romeo grille on an actual Alfa. Impreza would benefit from an updated headlight and grille arrangement, not so much the hood lines or rest of this car.

That's all still derivative. Subaru needs to establish its own identity. Unfortunately they have tried so hard for years to reinvent their face they have little if any heritage to draw upon. I thought the bugeye was a breakthrough. Certainly the aggressive, wide trapezoid grille should carry on.

I couldn't agree with you more.
I still belive that the 02-05 Subaru's are alot more stylist and tastefull.
I hope the new 06+ Subaru's get a major change in looks because they
need it sorry guys.
