stroker kits

does anyone in the bay area offer this?

Listed below are some options you have when rebuilding your Subaru engine. 2.0 liter powered WRX owners may wonder why we don't list the 2.5 shortblock swap. After doing quite a few of them, we have decided it is a bad idea. While they do make lots of torque, they fail at the top end of the power band. While it is possible to add lower compression pistons or thick head gaskets to help prevent detonation issues, it does not solve the other issue. The combustion chamber of the head is designed for a smaller cylinder. Without serious headwork, this combination will fall short of the expected benefits of the increase in displacement.

There is a solution to the 2.0 liter blues. Stroke it! Unless your engine looks like the one in the photo below, your 2.0 liter can be rebuilt using superior parts to stock, for a long lasting high horsepower engine. When rebuilding engines, Garage Tuning always over bores the block for new forged pistons. To stroke the 2.0 liter engine, custom pistons and a new STi crankshaft are used. A wise and fairly inexpensive addition to the stroker engine, are a set of forged rods. All Garage Tuning built engines use ACL Race Bearings for better oil flow and bearing life. Head rebuilding includes a 3 angle valve job for better airflow through the head. ARP head studs and Garage Tuning custom specification head gaskets ensure there will be no future head gasket failures.

I'd pm any of the local vendors (EQ, GST...) I'm pretty sure they'll have options for you.
