STI (build date) question

How do I figure out the manufacture number of my STI. I have a 2004 STI and was told it was one of the first in the states and the first in NY.

If the 8 is a model designator, than yes, you have STi #1 of that series. If it's not, you have STi #8001. If you call Brian at Exeter Subaru's parts department he can tell you for sure.
