I think I just killed my engine (spun rod sounds like). What is my best option?

The car is 2004 WRX 2.0L. Can I buy a 2.5L sti shortblock on eBay and have that installed? Might as well go with an upgrade while I'm in there right? Any suggestions?

Spend the extra cash on the ej257b it's nitrated and you won't have a problem with the oem rings like you would with the ej257 do some research.

Nitrited crank doesn't really matter, and isn't the B that everyone is complaining about with ring failure (I don't give in to the hubbub)?

You can run a hybrid, but it's not direct plug and play. You will need injectors and a retune, and if the money is available have your heads matched to the block. What kind of mileage do you have?
