Question For Sale Question

I am selling my 03 WRX. A few questions that might help selling my car. The car has a Gruppe-S up pipe, CEL fix, 04 STi cat back, Fidanza flywheel, ACT clutch, Speedware harness bar, Sparco 4 point harnesses (black), Sparco harness pads, Auto Meter Ultra Lite boost gauge, STi carbon side markers, Zero Sports Carbon wing risers, armrest extention, Mobil 1 in tranny and rear end. What would you rather have as a consumer? Stock intake minus silencer with no CEL. Or an Injen racing division cold air intake with CEL. CEL reads too rich, can be fixed with a fuel computer for around $300 (APEXi)or UTEC for $1000 and will add more power with either of those components. Or should I put on the APEXi fuel computer and bump up the price a bit. I would give the stock intake with the car too. I already know that the intake on these cars is a touchy subject. So please dont say that one or the other sucks and blah blah on about it. Just an opinion with no insulting comments. Thank you.

Nick

i think a stock intake would make the car sell faster. as a buyer, i dont really see an intake as a buying point, more as a downfall, espically if it is an intake that causes a cel.

good luck selling your car.

As a consumer, I would never buy a modded WRX.

i think your best luck would be to remove most power mods like uppipe for instance and sell it. clutches and stuff would be fine with me.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Kean, I wouldn't buy a modded one since that means the car was prolly ran pretty hard, just my opinion though.

its been clearly shown that you get the most money by parting out your car and then selling it as stock.

I think if you return the car to stock, then sell your aftermarket parts on eBay you'll make more money. As a used car shopper, I would assume a modded car would be a car that was driven hard previously.

Another change in the lineup. The STi that I am buying has the factory boost gauge. I was thinking about swapping out the AutoMeter out of my 03 and putting it in the STi and the STi gauge in the 03. Take off all aftermarket except for the up pipe, flywheel, clutch, and stock STi cat back (1 tip). Think it would be easier to sell this way?

If it were me, I'd just keep the STi stock since it's new and has a warranty. Later down the road I'd think about buying another gauge, but not before making sure everything on the STi is working properly.

just as many have said already. return the car back to stock then sell it. People (or at least I do) would think that you do drive the car HARD if you have mods (I don't really see the justification, but just think like that ). So stock it is!

Dont think it matters anymore if it is stock or not. Today some lady in a Buick roadmaster hit my car. She ran a red light in a 55 mph zone. I couldnt see her coming b/c of a truck in the lane next to me. She hit my car in front of the left front tire, that spun my car around and the rear 1/4 drilled hers. There is pretty muchly no front end on my WRX. Battery is no more, can see where it used to be. It hit so hard in the back that the jack broke through the mount, out the trap door and across my trunk. Bent a rim, air bags didnt go off. I will post pics asap. Thank god I had those 4 point harnesses. I really need that STi now.
