A sad day for my Scooby
My father in-law had moved my car so he could put his truck in the garage b4 a major storm. He had left my car in gear with the e-brake up. That's fine except for I have auto start so when I park my car, I never leave it in gear. So in the morning, I had remote started my carnot knowing that he had left it in gear. We have a wall that lines our driveway, and my poor car just decided to take off and run into the wall. Cracked the headlight, shattered the fog light and turn sight and scratched and cracked my bumper to hell. Here's a pic of the damage. If any of you can help me get replacement parts at a cheep price, I would be truley greatful cause all of my money go to my kids right now.

Lucky for me that my father in law had backed it in the drive way instead of facing it towards the garage cause the garage door was open and right behind my car was my father in law's truck. His back bumper would have been messed up and so would mt carbon fiber hood. I guess some good did come out of this whole thing.

i thouhgt the autostart would NOT start if the car is in gear.
sound shaddy that the autostart wouls start in gear.
isn't there a sensor that tells the ECU what gear the car is in?

Same thing happened to my buddies Camaro...believe they dont recommend installing them on manual trannys?
I know there is a wire that needs to be jumped to allow starting in gear,,,,,
sorry to hear it...least like you said, coulda been worse with the carbon hood

Car Info: 02 Aspen White sedan
sorry to hear about your car, hope you are able to fix it, but wouldnt you check to see if the car wasnt in gear before you press the button, not assuming that your father-in-law would automatically leave it as he found it??? gluck in fixing your car though
