i though the 98-01rs cant go faster than that because they tach out because they have 4.44 gears in them compared to the L that can do 140 but hasnt the power unless going down hill
it sounds like the cop is not telling the truth because he was driving with another and and not passing him and i wouldnt think the normal person would drive 100+
plus he said he could hear him before he could see him physics says that cant happen on a staight road and if that was the case he was on the curve and got tagged which will give a false speed and it would surprise me if he even calibrated his radar before he used it

your physics are wrong...
"heard him before I saw him..." totally possible.... unless you are breaking the sound barrier of over 700 mph, your sound will travel faster than you will allowing you to be heard before seen. point in case: can you hear an indy car when you are sitting in the bleachers before it passes you? yes. is it louder afterward? yes. it's called the doppler effect. Have a friend that used to drive a 94 twin turbo rx-7 modded out... we always heard it before we saw it.
lol hmm maybe i soulda used that line when i got pulled over in my buddy's 81 chevy with a camaro Z28 under the hood going 95, but " but sir my speedo only goes to 85", but actully the cop was quite nice, he mentioned that roll pan ( no bumper) was illegal and the fact that it doesnt have seat belts is very illegal, though its a show truck and he ovisusly liked that.
