Well..let's see...
Since I have lost Speed on my cable, I haven't been able to see any rally updates.
But we all know that speed is quickly becoming the ALL NASCAR channel(I really like NASCAR- but not that much!) Speed was at its best when it was speevision and you got all the old movies on lost drive-in and all the cool racing news that they would play often, so you wouldn't have to wait for its one time a week that a show would be on.
But isn't there supposed to be a new car/motorcycle/boat channel coming out soon? maybee they will have actual coverage like they do on the Dakar- not just a one hour update.

here is a draft of what i'm going to send them once it's been proofread:
Dear SpeedTV,
It has recently come to my attention, that there is a possibility that you will discontinue your coverage of both the US based SCCA Pro Rally events, as well as the World Rally Championship (WRC). I would like to encourage you to not cancel the coverage that you provide of either series. Rally Racing is a fantastic form of motor racing, and is very unique. It provides viewers the rare opportunity to see inside what are, plainly put, the fastest road legal cars in the world. There is no other racing series that allows owners of Subaru WRXs, Mitsubishi Lancers and Ford Focus’ and similar cars to watch cars derived from their own driven in anger. Cars such a these are a recent development in the United States, after widespread acceptance throughout Europe and Japan. With new models such as the Lancer Evolution and Subaru WRX STi invigorating the market for such vehicles, I am absolutely positive that the popularity of these vehicles, and the events that they compete in will only increase with time.
Rallying is very new to the United States, and the SCCA and Speed have done a commendable job in trying to expand the popularity and viewer ship of rallying here. As a fan of both the SCCA Pro Rally, and the WRC, i would hate to see this effort wasted. Rally racing has an incredible amount to offer motor sports fans, as is evidenced by the number of people who turn out for events like Rally Sweden, and Rally Acropolis. Fans brave subzero temperatures in Sweden, and triple digit heat in Greece to see their favorite drivers. With the right encouragement and television coverage, Rally racing in the US could reach the level of popularity that it has in Europe, where it is seen as nearly equal to Formula One -- a series whose television coverage could never be discontinued due to it’s immense popularity.
In closing, I would ask you to not discontinue, or even abbreviate your coverage of both the WRC and SCCA Pro Rally. I subscribe to a cable service that allows me to receive Speed for the sole reason of watching the WRC, AMA Pro Racing, World Superbike, and MotoGP. If Speed were to discontinue coverage of the WRC, i fear that my favorite motorcycle racing events would be next. If that were to come to pass, i would without a doubt cancel my subscription to Speed.

I totally agree. I'm sick of seeing rally and road racing coverage slashed to make way for more NASCAR and oval racing. I used to watch Speed more than any other channel, but now I rarely tune in. How can they expect the popularity of rallying to grow if they cut it off at the root? NASCAR has had over 50 years to reach its level of popularity in this country, while rallying has been televised for only a few years. That channel never ceases to **** me off.

Here's what I sent:
I heard a nasty rumor today that the WRC may be taken of the air. Is this true? Why would they want to do that? Every enthusiast I know loves rally racing, and we always want to see more. If you ask me, they could do away with some of the NASCAR, and balance it out with more of other motorsports. That's just my humble opinion, but Two Wheel Tuesdays shouldn't be filled with NASCAR. Needless to say, maybe Speed should put up a poll, asking who wants to keep WRC on the air before they take it off. If they already have a poll, where is it? Maybe they could make it known to everyone. Hopefully you get a lot of these emails before it's too late. I think there would be a lot of disappointed fans if WRC were to go away, especially with the new wave of AWD sport sedans hitting the US.
Sincerely
