I just picked up a rear spoiler for my WRX. All the service guys said, “are you sure you want to install that yourself”. It was part of the deal when I bought the car that I get a spoiler for free but I offered to install it because the dealer wanted 150.00 to put it on. During the deal I was told how “easy it is to install”.

Today I picked it up and now it seems like you need a degree in mechanical engineering to put one on. They said things like, you can wrecked the whole thing, they seen lots of them wrecked due to owner installations, blah blah blah…

Is it a difficult thing to install? How long should it take and are the guys at the dealer ship telling me a bought load of lies just to get another 150.00 out of me?
