90% of the population thinks you are an idiot if you have altezas on your car. Cause it just looks tacky. You know, like wearing your hat sideways with your shoelaces un-tied.

I got mine from http://www.optauto.com/webstore/ seemed to be the cheapest on the net. You have to buy 2 they come 1 to a package and thats the name ion crystal.. took 9 days to get them cross country so that was lame but at least they had the cheapest price.

As a follow-up to my original post, I neglected to mention that Altezzas look fine on Altezzas (IS300). I must admit, however, that they look bad on anything else, even Harriers (RX300). This is a good thread, for the most part mature.

this thread kinda makes me wonder why people that modify cares dont take the doctors oath approach, kinda goes something like "do no harm in the quest to heal" or something similar. I've had APC Altezza's and honestly I'll never buy another APC product. They leaked water in. "well, just redo the weather stripping"? I shouldnt have to!!! They were attracting attention-from the cops who thought I was a street racer. the chrome was way to reflective, day or especially night, reflective tailights equal attention! the wrong kind.
Now I switched the APC's on my Civic to JDM taillights. One less reflector each side, and one less light on the side. they gave an "in the know" look and accentuate the lines of the stock vehicle.
Do the JDM tails for a Sube difer from stock? not sure, but worth looking into!

Altezzas for a rex are ugly. The stock tail lights look awesome, there is no orange in them, and they aren't the riced out clear red and white, they are awesome. I like the all white euro tail lights on some cars.. not clear/chrome, sort of like clear corners for other cars, but that same material for the entire brake light. Altezza's have just gotten out of control to me, everyone has them.... plus if they have altezzas around here they act like their car is modded and drive like a complete fool, I can't stand it, zipping in and out. I know everyone doesn't act like that who owns altezzas but a lot of people where I live do, it's pathetic... when they pull up beside me and rev their engine and crap I just look the other way, I don't even give them the time of day..lol
Altezzas for rex = ugly and makes the car look like a cheap rice machine.
Stock tail lights for rex = sexyness! :-)

i agree with you about the stock tail lights for the wrx...especially the new ones.....but they do look good on other cars...and i know what u mean about the idiots with altezzas who drive like fools(not everyone like nigel said)

Not only do "altezzas" look cheap, they also are hazardous. There have been many occasions that I haven't been able to tell if the guy in front of me is breaking or his tail lapms are just on because of the faint light. My guess is that 75% of "altezzas" on the road are NOT DOT apporved. We should unite and get these pieces of rubbish off the streets unless they can meet regulations so you can see them at night. Initative people! lets go write to our congressmen or something. 
I can't believe people waste their money on these tail lamps. I guess the brightside to look on is that the sales are driving our economy. Anyone wanna open up an altezza shop with me? I'm sure we could make hecka bank yo!

heh, I dunno, you'd be amazed at how some dumb people make it though the world.
back to the topic.. before i had my wrx, iw as looking at tail lights, becuase i didn't initially like how the stock ones looked scuffed. but I have yet to see an aftermarket replacement that doesn't look gay, or fit cheeply. I now don't mind the stock at all.
please post pics if you have 'good' looking, non 'cheap' altezzas

i've said it again and again, but here we go again cause nobody listens. altezzas ae good for 10-100 hp depending on the price.

Everyone has an opinion and mine is that i used to not like them because everyone with a honda gots them and i hate those. i extremely disagree with the nonsense about not givin off as much light. i have the straight chrome (notcarbon or gunmetal) and give off ****loads more light than my stock and they look awesome in my opinion. some people hate cosmetics and others love em. since my 03rex is brand new i cant do much for power increases. maybe prodrive can make a dealer opition rear light. i also think they should make the spoiler light more like knightrider. that would be cool.
