My company is exploring the possibility of publishing a Subaru-specific magazine. Currently, we're evaluating the following format:

a) 64+ pages
b) Glossy stock, color printing throughout
c) bi-monthly (6 issues/year)

We'd appreciate feedback from I-Club members on content, design, the name, and anything else you can think of.



Please note that *nothing* is finalized on this yet. Not the name (though I do own the URL), not the design. Final product could look completely different...or almost identical. This is for informational purposes only.

Your feedback (or lack of feedback) will help set the direction we take on this.

* follow WELL modified cars, not ricey ****.
* cover new stuff coming out
* dedicate some pages to old school rides like the brat or something, showcasing people with good copies.
* free subscriptions for i-club members (or just me..whatever)

uhh..magazine sponsored meets around the country to "get the word out".

 

yeah, gotta agree about the old school subarus. I'd say no more then 2/3 WRX stuff if possible.

i'm on board. bring on the rice and the nice. actually not the rice i was just kidding.

 

Please try to include instrumented test reviews of new and modified vehicles, complete with road course, drag strip, slalom, and HP and torque figures (and respective plotted graphs) measured at the wheels on the same high-quality AWD chassis dyno.

If the magazine is bound together in a way that allows it to lay flat, a center two-page color photo of a featured vehicle would be nice.

I definitely think a Tech section should be included. Maybe even a Project vehicle as well as a Reader's ride(s) section. A product Review section w/ before and after dyno readings wouldn't hurt.

 

the 6 issues is not too bad, but if it would be possible to keep the same number of pages but to make it like 8-12 issues, umm if ur looking for a price idea i would pay 7 bucks each issue for 8-12 issues, but i guess we could do the free sub for i-club members hehe...

You know the Japanese magazines "Impreza Magazine" and "Impreza no Subete"? Make your magazine like theirs, only in English

i think that if the magazine will have the word sport in it, cover sport... especially WRC since there is a lack of coverage in the usa... otherwise, great stuff
