Agreed. The extra wide margins are useless.

Hrm well, honestly, there's too much info and graphics on a single page. Also the fonts vary too much in side... that is, when trying to adjust my browser to give me a good size font for on portion of the screen, another is too small or too large. A better way to differentiate is with fonts or bold/italic/etc.....

I'm sure I can think up more complaints as time goes on . I'm old and I need things simple or I'll fall down and break a hip or something.

Agreed on the margins, and spacing in general... There is SO much wasted space. The sides and the fact that there are graphic headers at the top of EVERY post make for tons of scrolling.

Despite the critiques... thanks for continually working on it!

wow...all you fans of the new look are gonna hate me.

Personally I think the design is very cool looking and I'm looking forward to some of the new features.

Now the bad. I am a graphic designer and a big fan of color theory. This site brakes so many rules of UI design it's rediculous.

The colors blend together making it very hard to focus. Things are not well organized. It's more design than function...on the internet that's a bad thing. I think it's slower and I'm at work and I work for SBC...we have a pretty good connection speed.

I hate the loss of the quick reply box.

it's really difficult to navagate topics and keep up with what's going on.

Basically I just think the site is cool to look at for a short while and not very user friendly. The point is to keep people here not chase them away in 15/20 minutes.

My 20 minutes are up......

Nobody hates anybody on i-Club.

Alex will read all of your criticisms and recommendations, especially the one's that suggest a solution that most can live with (we'll never make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time).

Mr. bemani, I also like default font size = 2 so we'll see what changes Alex makes during the course of the day.

Thanks, all.

Thanks for the work Alex.
the new edit box is better.

I agree need to make better use of horizontal space, let the page go to the edge of the opened browser.

Also i really don't like the space that is lost between each post verticaly. Seems like a huge waste of space.

okay i guess

I like the new look with the exception that its a little too busy.
I notice that my comps @ work and at home cannot fit the whole page now . . .
i have to scroll horizontally too

other than that its time to set ourself apart from the other subie forums.
i do have to say though that this is very similar to other "rice" forums out there.

das jus me.

I didn't get a chance to browse all the responses, so sorry if this is redundant

I think the overall look is awesome... but the usability needs some improvement

What I liked so much about the previous version is that it was so easy to read and follow a thread. Scrolling quickly I can follow the content of each post without being distracted by a lot of space/graphics between each reply.

Now each reply is sandwiched between white space/header graphic bar/username+avatar+status/[CONTENT]/footer graphic bar/white space. Maybe the username+avatar+status can run vertically again as a side bar it may improve readability.

Just my 2 cents - can't wait until we see the final product... keep up the good work

I just don't like the avatar and user name being on top, different from all the other forums I go on and just confusing. I like some of the changes, and I don't mind the rest, I just can't stand the names not being on the side, confuses me like crazy.
