Please help us with a survey on drivers, safety and congestion
We have developed a questionnaire survey on the web and we would appreciate it if you take it. The survey is completely anonymous.
We want to find out how you rate congestion and safety at intersections with traffic lights. Please take the survey by clicking on this link:

Thank you for your participation!

I edited the link but panos may have set up a slightly different link with a counter or something. He can always go back and re-edit his own link again. Anyhow, it works now.
EDIT: Doh! No, the link is still incomplete!

Thanks a lot for trying to fix the link. We had prepared a Subaru-specific link. It worked on my post.
The Subaru link is: http://traffic.eng.hawaii.edu/survey...ubaru_UHsurvey
If this does not work, please use the link on the top post.
We have been getting some complaints about the link but it seems that the issue is the user's IE setup or site firewalls that do not allow this survey to open.
We have found that hitting "refresh" works for some.
Thanks a lot to those who have tried our survey and we hope that many more will try it.

Question #8 might benefit from a slight re-wording. It asks how much additional time would one be willing to wait, but was the question intended to ask about additional time in addition to the time that the other two situations must wait? For example, if the question concerns a pedestrian, are you asking if that pedestrian would wait 0 to 31+ seconds longer than cars at the same intersection for a safe, protected crossing?

Question #9 didn't offer me the choice I would most likely choose:
Driving the same speed if traffic conditions are light enough, but with increased distance between myself and the traffic in front of me.

Well, the short of it is that there is a national standard called the Highway Capacity Manual. It bases intersection performance on delay only and the cutoff points for excellent/very good/good/ok/poor/very poor were determined by committee.
Your responses help us learn whether safety is an important factor that should weigh in, whether wet conditions affect operations and to establish cutoff points based on hudrends of driver responses rather than a dozen experts.
