I love it when companies put out a station wagon and ask you to call it a "5 door hatchback" or something silly like that.

It's a wagon. ...and it's ugly. The front end is just - blech. Mazdaspeed / Ford WRX! ...and could they make those rear lights any more rice?

I didn't like the 350Z when they first launched it either. Hopefully the new Subies grow on me.

 

I think the mock up of what the sti will look like in this months road and track actually looks pretty decent. Damn near every new generation that has come out as had a strong reaction. When the bugeye came out, I remember everyone hating it, then again with the 06. We (for the most part) have grown to love those, and I think this generation will grow on us as well especially when the sti is released. I hated the 06 when it came out, and now I drive one because I like it the most. I am sure they will pull some tweaks for 09 as well.

yeah... some of us do like it, I really like the mockup of the STi that C&C did...

People reacted the same way to the bug eye, yet people still bought them left and right (like me).

And with the right aftermarket parts (mainly grill and taillights) I think the WRX doesnt look half bad...

People are always scared of change, especially revolutionary change like making the Impreza a hatch. However, you have to remember that the GC Imprezas are as sick as they are today because the Bugeye WRX came out, and the Bugeye is tight because in 2004 a new version came out, and the 06-07 is tight because its the last year of the sedan (aside from each models' attributes).

The change makes the past and current models eventually become icons and classic bad *** cars.

The GC is the ****, ten years from now we will look back and see our sedans and say they were the ****, and whatever comes after the hatch will make the hatch the ****. Don't be scared of change, give it a chance... plus the value of all our sedans will go up!!
