Off to search should have been your first action. There are slight differences here and there, all of which are on this sight somewhere.

For 03 an automatic tranny is available for the sedan, a different clutch (for no chatter). 2004 has a different dash cluster. I think somewhere down the road a brake upgrade/remodel happend, but not shure. They are all good years, cant go wrong with any year WRX.

The '04 has a different gauge cluster (center tach - '03 has the tach to the right and speedo in center), different front end, different tail lights, different seats. There are some options, such as sunroof, heated seats, heated mirrors that aren't offered on the '03. There are also some color differences (I think only that the red is different - 03 is more of a fire engine looking red and no yellow offering ). The '04 also has some different under bits - like a smaller rear sway bar (18mm vs. 20mm on the sedan for '03).

Good luck.

The automatic was always available in the USDM WRX, even for 2002. I myself own one.

02 had different brake pads than 03's I believe to get rid of the rotor grooving. Besides that, the only other difference is that there was a glowing ignition ring starting 03.

Are you sure? My brochure and options information make no mention of a sunroof being available for '03 in the US. Just for '04.

Also - slight difference between '02 and '03 that I found out - there is a sensor in the '03 ECU that is not found in the '02 ECU. You can put an '02 ECU in your '03, but if you try to put an '03 in to an '02 you'll get permanent CEL

I think I saw on MotorWeek that the 04 have slightly revalved shocks and that they felt just a little better behaved.
Didn't sound like too big a deal.

It wasn't an option - a sunroof can be added after market.

Yeah i dont think it was an option either...also 03+ have no clutch shudder and 04s are .2 faster to 60 because they are more aerodynamic...at least thats what SCC's tests show
