Noo-B with some questions
just like to say hello and wanted to ask a few questions. as well as introduce myself.
first off, i'm not new to the import scene as my previous whip will show.
'00 Civic HB

have since crashed and destroyed my hatch and am looking to start a new project and am pretty much decided on a WRX. here is a list of mods to get me started and i was curious to see what you all thought and could offer in the form of advice.
WRX Mods
--Tein HA coilovers
--Blitz FMIC
--Turbo XS BOV
--Injen intake
--MRT Turbo Back exhaust(is this good? what all else do i need as i am new to turbos)
--Kartboy short shifter w/ Kb bushings
--17" Volk Rims
--CF Hood w/ pins
--gauges of some sort(already have A/F, but what else do i need?)
--Sparco Torinos(already have them)
any help/suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. educate me in the ways of the WRX and what else i should do first. all this will be done by the end of March. thanx alot guys/gals.....talk to you soon.

hey mikey
looks like you have a great plan. many of those parts are very popular and would work great. the BOV is strictly for show and noise, and personally i would vent it back into the intake.
other than that, sounds like a great project. i recomment vishnu performance for any engine mods. shiv is a lunatic when it comes to tuning these cars, and his producs are dyno proven. he also spends countless hours tweeking parts to eeek every last drop of power.
check out vishnus web site. you will find a bunch of interesting articles and info there.

Volks are nice rims, but everyone has them. maybe search around and see if thee are any other manf. you like. simply a suggestion. i am all about being original as i can...
Kartboy is a sure winner. he makes the best short shifter, and is a great guy as well. the only choice for me when it comes to shifters and sway bar end links
speaking of sway bars, i would definatly look at getting a 22mm front and rear sway bar. i recommend cusco. it will compliment the stiffer ride of the HA's. i also recommend cucso coilovers over the tiens. IMHO they ride better and are better construction. once again, just my opinion.
i have heard mixed reviews on the MRT, and i am sure others can pipe in on the exhaust. i still recommend vishnu over anyone else, then cusco or apex after that. i had an N-1 on my wagon and it sounded insanely sick.
in order...
get new rims and tires, the stock ones are garbage
sway bars
coilovers
engine mods (exhaust and uppipe first)
exterior mods
interior mods
that is the most practicle and satisfying route to go.
i am sure others will chime in, but pm me if you have other questions/ideas. use this board to the max. there is a ton of great info, and knowledgable people here.

Josh: WOW, what an inciteful and well thought out reply thank you very much.
Opinions is what i seek so i will definitely take 'your' opinions into consideration in my purchases. and thanx for the link. as far as my route to building my doubleya.
this is what i'm planning:
1. order all the parts i listed and then some
2. buy the car
3. drive home in a safe manner
and get to work installing all my goodies.
as far as the VOLKS go, i had them on my civic hb and i simply love them, yeah i know everyone has them but then again rims are hard to be original on i think.
with the Cusco coilovers do you know how much ride height adjustability they have? cuz i plan on dumpin the she-it outta my doubleya(at shows of course)
with the Vishnu products, specifically their exhaust what kind of tone do they have? i don't want anything ridiculously obnoxious sounding, just something deep and throaty.
as far as exterior mods are concerned, i'm stickin with the stock underspoiler kit w/out rear wing, cf mirrors, cf trunk, cf hood and thats about it. and i already got the interior covered. any other suggestions/opinions are welcomed and appreciated. thanx again Josh.
EDIT: i just looked at the Vishnu website, do you recommend piecing together my upgrades or going with their package upgrades?

Break the car in before you mod it. That will be the longest 1000 miles of your life. The kits can be cheaper but check the for sale things hear. Clearly you've modded a car before but remember to have a plan wich it looks lik eyou do. Ive been watching a buddy on a car hes at 5k and the car is slower and doesn't handle any better.
The WRX will sound alot better with the new exhaust you'll wonder why you ever liked the civics sound. The car will sound mean it reminds me of a Porche would you call them obnoxious, definately not like beez in a tin can. go with up and down pipes with exhaust would be my opinion.
On the interior scene I'm really impressed with an seriously considering the mod where a 7" LCD mod is placed in place of stock H/U, and H/U is placed in guage pod. Looks good, and looks like it came from factory.
And just to reiterate Josh there is tons of good info hear and next to no flaming (unless clearly merited).
