Unhappy no Turbotimer??

So I heard from somewhere that subies don't need a trubo timer because when the engine is turned off, the oil is vaccumed up?? any truth to this??

i think that it was determined that the 04+ did not "need" a turbo timer. although i am not sure if it was for the same reason you mentioned.

Yeah, the WRXs (all years) don't need a turbo timer with the stock turbo. The turbo is designed to keep cooling the turbo after the car is shut off through evaporative cooling, and the oil will not bake on your bearings like older turbos tend to.

why the sad face? you can still get one if you really want one they just aren't necessary. Plenty of people still get them for the added security, even if it isn't totally necessary.

sad face = $80 coulda been spent on somethin more urgent... like to go toward exhaust ...

Ah, I understand.

Try and sell the TT. Like I said, a lot of people still like to use them for the added security.

what do you mean by security? like an alarm? or somethine else...

No, security of your turbo. By making sure you really take care of it.
