I saw that the new WRX for will still have the 16" wheels with the same re 92's YUK ! Alothough I have not seen a picture yet of it with these wheel I feel its going to be a BIG let down. All the pics so par have the ero 17's which look perfect on the car. Whats wrong with SOA ? And does anyone know of dealers having those wheels as an option ?

Does anyone have a photo of the 04 WRX with the wheels that will come on it stock? I would never pay for the deal option BSS wheels , but a performance car like this should not come with 16"wheels with RE 92's. SOA is slowly getting it right... PLEASE make the Euro 17's standard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its because the WRX is more of an "all-purpose" model and the 16's are better for rough terrain and U.S. roads. The 17's are definatly the better looking wheels, but the tires Subaru puts on them are summer-only and no good for the winter climates around the states, as well as the lower profiles on bad roads like I mentioned.

What's "wrong" with SOA is that they're trying to keep the WRX at a reasonable price that Americans will pay for the car. If the 16s bother you so much, pay for the optional 17-inchers and let those of us who don't want to pay extra for them have the choice not to.
BTW Subaru introduced a new 17" rim almost a year ago that is only $1200, so you don't even have to go for the BBS rims.

how many people keep the stock wheels for a long period of time anyway? since the wrx is more a "tuners car" than anything else, im guessing subaru said "well, the kids are gonna get new wheels anyway" and they were right
for a lot of people, a really nice set of wheels sets their car apart or gives it that unique look. and if everyone had a nice set of 17's from the factory.........well.....u get it

If you get a new WRX and don't upgrade the brakes, keep your OEM wheels and tires for the winter then spend $900 on some 17" Rota's with summer tires and move on in life. You just saved $300 over the factory 17 option.

Speaking of rims...
Why is it that at the 2 dealerships I go to (and I would assume others) offer 17 OZ prodrive rims but they offer the BBS on their site. As of yet I have not seen the BBS rims in person. I've seen the stock and the OZ prodrives, and they come with pirrelli tires.

Heh heh, I have 2 sets. One for summer and one for winter. I bought the second set dirt cheap. Yeah, 17's look nicer and I was originally going to get those for my summer tires, but $250 for OEM 16's with almost brand new rubber on them was just too good of a deal to pass up.
