Question New Member-New Car-Got Keyed

First off id like to thank the a**hole that keyed my car only hours after purchasin it while at the Mall. It would be worth gettin keyed just to catch the person that did it i swear....

Wattup people. Im new to the board and this bein my first post i have a few questions. I just picked up my 03 Impreza last night and was wonderin wat a good exhaust would be to put on. I want something not too loud but deep. I was also wondering wat type of a BOV to buy. I dont know anythin bout Imprezas. I own a 01' M3 and bought the Impreza for work and everyday driving but the thing is just to quiet for me. The car kicks ***, but it just doesnt sound mean while bein stock. I want that deep exhaust sound and want a BOV that sounds good. If i sound like i dont know sh*t bout these cars its cuz i dont. I told myself this car was only for commuting but it seems like i must mod.

Any input is appreciated. Thnx peeps.

Since you're talking about BOV, I assume you have the WRX and not the RS.

For a first power mod I would recommend an ECU reflash. Cheaper than exhaust and, IMO, more benefits to it. If you just want the sound, check out the Cobb cat back or TBE. It's SWEET. I'll be getting one in a month or two.

Check out the technical forums. There are alot of discussions about BOV's and exhausts in there and alot of people that are willing to help out.

I would suggest a reflash like everyone else will and a HKS Turbo back exhuast, one of the best exhuasts on the market for quality and is known to bring the most power from dyno testing (catback). The HKS bov is nice too, I like staying with HKS because it's a good company.

I suggest the Borla Hush cat back.

It sounds tight, has a good deep tone, isn't obnoxiously loud, and has an awesome warranty....Look at mpjperformance.com

they are a local shop and have installed countless mods for us Bay Area I-clubbers - they ship too I think.....

I'm not sure (from reading your post) if you realize this, but you will likely see no performance gains from an aftermarket BOV on the WRX. The factory valve does just fine for stock boost levels (and upwards of ~19psi). .......sound is a different story.

Sorry about your car btw.

thnx for all the feedback people, and yea i kinda figured the aftermarket BOV wouldnt do much performance wise, its just that i like that sound n all. Its like carbon fiber, wont make u faster really, but it just looks nice. Good to know that the subaru owners are helpful. Thnx again everyone..

Milorld, my recommendation to this court is that the filthy little ****** who carried out this vicious mutilation be strung up by his ********* with cheesewire until he be dead, Dead, DEAD!!!

Sorry to hear about your keying dude, that's just sick. Is it really too much to expect people to just show respect for your property?

Anyway, enjoy your Impreza - I know I do!

Bonkers.
