Car Info: Impreza 2.5i (hopefully)
Hey you guys. dont bash yet. I currently drive a 99 solara. and am looking to purchase an 07 impreza 2.5i, not wrx, not sti, because of funds. I am a member of solaraguy.org as well.
Reason why I am choosing to own a subie is because solara's (mine is lightly modded) engine internals are pretty weak and with it being an old car (even though toyota engines are heard to last awhile), I want a car that is AWD, that can handle the crappy weather chicago dishes out, etc.. and plus. I've always been partial to subies.
I'm extremely new to the subie forum since I know absolutely nothing about what to start modding on. I hope to lower the car and put on a decent >> AXLE BACK << exhaust on there. I am a college student so money doesn't grow on trees and with car payments needin to be done as well I can only do some minor mods once I purchase the car within a few months to at most a year. I will continue to float on the forums daily, but with that said.
budget-wise,
what mods can best be done to my future vehicle?
price and sites to purchase them from or places to puchase them from would be very helpful as well.
hope to be a happy subie owner soon!

Welcome... The 2.5i is nice... You get mostly everything the WRX has, except about 50 less horsepower. It's a very fun car tho. I thoroughly enjoy mine.
I'd recommend upgrading brakes first. They should have come with WRX brakes, considering the car is about the same weight and has similar handling capabilities. You'll find everything you wanna know on this forum. Almost everything for the WRX fits the 2.5i also. I would go used, if you can find one that's bone stock with relatively low miles, that's been taken care of. In my experience, new = not worth the extra money, especially on a student's income. Lower payments mean more money for modding.
