new car!
just drove off a 06 WRX TR and have some questions.
Is the tranny supposed to be that notchy? I mean, its good in a way that I know that I shifted, but wondered if it will smoothen out with time.
The engine is rather... sounds mechanical. When I stand in front of my friend's brand new civic, it's quiet at idle. But my WRX makes these sounds like my 92 accord. (the valve lash sound). Could be because the sound leaks from the hood scoop and the thin aluminum hood. Not sure if the new cars these days have all the sound deadning for the engines, but wanted to make sure that it is "normal".
Thanks!

From: FIXED the Hack: IWSTI>iclub - really, was the hack necessary; as in why the insecurity? Most people on this forum don't even have an STI- so that site isn't meant for them anyway- damn communists and their free-speech stifling ways

Congrats, and yes everything that you're experiencing is NORMAL. In time you'll learn all the associated idiosyncrasies of the Impreza line. Enjoy.
p.s. you can't compare an Impreza to a (eek) Civic - the two are very different car lines made for two very, very different types of consumers, resulting in VERY different driving and ownership experiences. But if you prefer ergonomics over performance, then maybe that H brand is the one that befits you more.

Yeah....what he said. You'll be much happier with your Impreza. Hondas are nothing more than grocery getters.
