Well, they're not supposed to reveal it until the NY auto show in April, so I wouldn't be suprised if it wasn't released until July or August.

That's just my speculation, I can't back that up.

I'm kind of excited about it. It will be cool to see if Subaru can do an innovative design and perfect another generation of WRX's and STI's. Regardless of what happens, you'll be getting a great car to start with, it may not be the design we all prefer but you know it's going to be a legitimate performance car, with all the things plus more that we love about our cars already. Subaru will be much more competitive in the WRC with a more nimble car for todays course designs and start winning some World Rally championships again. To Subaru that is huge, considering how much money they invest into to their sponsored rally teams all over the world. Don't forget that hatches all over the world are huge right now, especially in Europe and that's a huge market for Subaru to go after. I prefer all previous Imprezas to the new design, but all the above are good reasons to a company to change something about their product

it is what it is...someone told me that they will not have an STI in 08...now that would be a shame...anyway it works out I am looking forward to it, unless of course the dont have an 08 STI

From what ive read from other sites theyll release the impreza later on this year but the wrx and sti wont get released until next year. And that the wrx and sti might still be made in a sedan model also.

Hmmm? The GC (pre-02) was it's own complete complete. The GD (02-07) was it's own complete chassis. The 08+ is based off the current Legacy chassis.

I had a hard enough time adjusting to the looks of my 06 sti over the 04/05's. I'm going to keep this sti long enough so that I can just buy a 3 year old used Skyline GTR when they're on the used car market. Screw a hatchback, even if it's not AS ugly as the concept pics, it's still a hatchback. I don't want a subaru focus.

Whatever Subaru comes out with as the next Impreza, I just hope the new chassis enables the Subaru World Rally Team to win a Manufacturer's Championship in the WRC. It can look average as long as the car wins rallies and is faster and better handling in the street version compared with the current the GD chassis. I'll buy a Subaru that is faster over a Subaru that is prettier anyday.

I couldn't agree more. Like I said before Subaru has so much $$$ riding on the line, not only for their WRC team but Subaru sponsered teams all around the world. Subaru has to be more competitive in the WRC! I would drive an ugly Subaru if it hauled ***!
