)Its difficult to find good cleaning agents for white finishes that really will bring out the original "color" that will not also ruin the finish. The hardest part of having a white car is that long-term discoloration becomes appearant much more quickly than for other colors or black. After one year of owning my 51E white Impreza I can tell that the polyurethane portions of the car are certainly more yellowed than the rest of the car. You generally do not see this with other colors (and especially not black) for much longer periods.
And as catdogr said, the industrial metal dust making its little red rust spots on your finish. I just had my trunk and bumper fixed from being rearended. New parts, actually, freshly painted. Its only been a couple of months. Twice I have let my car go unwashed for elongated periods... that's one at 2 weeks and one at 3 weeks. I have rust spots all over. Only 2 or 3 months ago I claybar'd and used a cleaner wax.

If I want to keep my white car looking good I basically must wash it at least once a week and use a detailer spray once a day and keep the cover on at night (no garage
).But damn, white WRXs look bettah than all ya'llz!

OK and now a few questions for white car care:
1 - I have heard that claybar'ing does not hurt the car at all, as long as you always protect it with wax afterwards. So, you can do it as often as you like. True or false?
2 - I've seen those waxes "for white cars" or "white waxes"" (often imported from Japan). Has anyone used them? Are the results superior? Do they last?
thanx,
jason
