Lowered Soobies and Snow?
I am located in a region that has a large amount of snowfall in the winter. I am debating whether or not I should lower my car. I drove it last year in the winter unlowered and had no problems. I am sure that there would have to be some sort of negative effects in the winter but are they minimal? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
I am lowered and have not had any snow problems. of course I also got better tires for all weather than the re-92's while i was at it.
Just avoid hitting snow like always and remember that the piled up snow you do hit has to be even lower now.

depends
How much snow do you get and how well do they keep the roads plowed? I noticed last season that my car, with stock ride height, was pushing a lot of snow on roads with 8-12 inches of snow on them. But that was in Tahoe, during a big dump in early January.

Ha, I was up there too, except I was there all through the winter with my pops. We worked 4 days a week and then came home to the east bay for three day weekends. I started the commute with my car around September but by the time December rolled around we had to take his Cummins TD up cuz my Subie was more like a snow plow and I didn't even have it lowered then. That was one nasty winter.

well actually there were two occasions, but i doubt the ride height mattered. one was driving on some iced over snow, broke through and rested on undercarriage. drove out, but slowly with the engine screaming. the other time was attempting to drive through a hood-height snowdrift.
didn't make it.
