Legacy GT Spec B (will there be a wagon version?)
Legacy GT Spec B
Does a wagon version of this car exist? I read this article on Sport Compact Car's website, it says it only comes with a 6 speed manual. http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/ro...acy_gt_spec_b/ This would be a ridiculously sick car, no?

Don't think the spec-b wagon is sold in the US...

That cant be right, there saying its going to be a 2.0L motor. Why would they downgrade? doesnt make any sense to me. First off the spec b (in america at least) has not seen any actual performance upgrades. All it really is, is the colorful interior and a new set of wheels. The japanese versions are much more advanced with different motor setups and different turbo's. Although i would love to see a spec b wagon, i think Redstage is right. There really just isnt a market for subaru in that particular catagory (compared to in japan). We'll see what happens though....wont we

I believe that Sport Compact Car article is years old and refers to the Japan-spec model. It's speculation about what would eventually be sold in the U.S. The 2.0 liter engine cannot make the necessary power on 91-octane and still meet stringent 50-state emissions standards.
Subaru Drive Magazine and other publications have already announced that the upgraded Spec B will have inverted struts like the STi, as well as the much stronger 6MT tranny, and the dash-selectable engine mapping.

There is no spec.B wagon available in the U.S. Hell, SoA doesn't even offer a 5MT version of the Legacy GT wagon anymore. Like others have said, the spec.B uses the 2.5L turbo motor.
The spec.B over a GT also adds aluminum suspension pieces, aluminum pedals (like the WRX), Bilstein struts, better tires (Bridgestone RE050), and the only Legacy with navigation + MT. The spec.B in other markets don't get any engine-related performance upgrades over either the Legacy 2.0GT or Legacy 3.0R.
