Impreza coupe engine swap
Hey guys i have a 96 impreza brighton coupe that is awd. It currently has the ej18 engine, but i was looking to swap in a ej25. Now i found a 99 legacy with auto trans with a 2.5. This should have the ej25d engine with the dohc that makes 165 hp right? It should just drop right in all ill need to do is chang throttle bodys and coils and possibly my headers correct?

Yes, it should drop in BUT '96 was a transistion year to OBD2 and the EGR on the 2.5 model may NOT be compatible w/yours. IIRC, the '93-'95 1.8 were a different EGR system as they were OBD1.
Assuming your '96 1.8 HAS EGR, I'd be curious to see if it's compatible.
Also, RS25.com has probably covered this already.....if you need to get more specific info.
